tex2 uses the mobile internet to send your message. That means instead of the normal price of a text, you just pay for the tiny chunk of data that leaves your phone or is received by it. The exact saving depends on the length of the message, what your network charges for data and how much you're currently paying to send each SMS.
You still pay the networks for tex2, not us. The cost comes off your balance or, if you're a contract customer, your bill.
The actual charge made by the networks depends on the length of the message you send and the tariff you're on. We've made some assumptions, and reckon the worst case scenario is as follows:
Indicitave cost per message (correct at Jan 07 E&OE). Charges on non UK networks or when roaming may differ.
| Network | Pay as you Go | Contract |
| Vodafone | 0.75p | 0.235p |
| O2 | 0.3p | 0.2p |
| T-Mobile | 0.73p | 0.73p |
| Orange | 0.25p | 0.1p |
| Virgin Mobile | 0.5p | 0.5p |
We're sorry, but like every other third party software supplier; we're locked out of 3. Which means you can't use tex2 on that network. Don't blame us though, blame 3.
